The slow progress was attributed to alleged threats from miscreants discouraging contractor participation. “It was a tough task, but we managed to crack it,” said an officer.

Suspension drama of MC engineer

Panipat: The sudden suspension — and same-day revocation — of MC Assistant Engineer Deepak Rana has become a viral topic in the city. Rana, a key figure in the ongoing anti-encroachment drive, was suspended on July 11 allegedly after MC teams demolished a sweet shop ramp. But a political intervention reportedly led to immediate reinstatement, sparking debate online as the revocation order spread on social media.

Gurugram: As waterlogging woes continue, local Congress leaders are seizing the moment — visiting flooded areas, posting selfies and demanding accountability from ruling BJP MLAs. Sources say the party’s high command may weigh the visibility and impact of this campaign while choosing its new district president.
