However, this time the focus is not on political developments, but on the tragic suicide of senior IPS officer Y Puran Kumar and the subsequent developments. (2) Queries over INLD rile Dushyant
Kurukshetra: As questions related to the INLD and Abhay Chautala continue to be a part of every media interaction of former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, the latter has expressed displeasure with the repeated queries. He called upon mediapersons to leave this topic. During a media interaction in Kurukshetra, the JJP leader said it was a chapter closed long ago. So, it was better not to raise the same topic again and again. He said, “We have already formed a new party (JJP) on our own. We were part of the government and worked for the welfare of the people.”
(3) Leaders within Congress changing camps
Karnal: Politics within Karnal Congress seems more like a game of musical chairs these days and the music just got louder. In the latest twist, Congress leader Nahar Singh Sandhu, a close aide of MP Randeep Singh Surjewala, switched sides and joined hands with Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda. The shift was not quiet — he made it loud and clear by hosting a public meeting for Hooda at his residence on Saturday, sending the local party circles buzzing. Interestingly, he is not first to switch camp. Earlier, a few days ago, Congress leader, Raghubir Sandhu, a known loyalist of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Deepender Hooda, jumped to of Sirsa MP Kumari Selja’s camp. With one camp gaining a face and another losing a familiar name, it seems political friendships within the Congress are being rewritten faster than ever.

MC’s decision on bhandaras raises eyebrows
(4) Panipat: The Municipal Corporation (MC) has directed that social organisations and the people who wish to organise “Langar or bhandara” (community kitchen) should obtain permission. The MC Commissioner said that organising bhandaras was not wrong. He said conclusion of the event, scores of plates and glasses were left on roads and not cleaned by the organisers. As the matter came to the fore, some ruling party leaders began opposing the MC’s decision. They said Panipat was a religious city, where scores of langars and bhandaras were organised by temples, gurdwaras and other social and religious organisations every day. The MC had to rethink over its decisions about granting permission for organising bhandaras, they said.
