Panipat: The ruling BJP campaigned aggressively in the MC elections, with top leaders, including CM Nayab Singh Saini and ex-CM Manohar Lal Khattar, rallying voters. Despite their strong push, Opposition Congress struggled with booth management and campaign strategy. With March 12 results pending, speculation is rife that Congress has already conceded ground to the ruling party.

Karnal’s voter turnout drops to 48.8%

Karnal: Low voter turnout in the Karnal Municipal Corporation elections has surprised political analysts, with only 48.8% polling recorded despite intense campaigning. Factors like voter apathy, frequent elections and ward delimitation contributed to the decline. Both BJP and Congress remain optimistic, with BJP banking on development and Congress hoping for silent voter support.

Education board officials replaced

Hisar: The Haryana Government has replaced the Board of School Education Haryana’s chairperson and secretary mid-session by appointing Dr Pawan Kumar and Deepak Nagpal as chairperson and secretary, respectively. The move comes amid rampant cheating cases during matriculation and 10 2 exams. It remains to be seen whether this administrative shake-up will improve exam integrity.
