Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij suspends chief engineer over power outage

Haryana’s Energy Minister Anil Vij has suspended Chief Engineer Anil Kumar of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) with immediate effect. The suspension comes after a fire incident at a 220 kV substation in Sector 107, Gurugram, on February 9, which disrupted power supply to 22 societies and other areas.

According to Vij, Anil Kumar failed to inform his higher authorities about the fire incident, prompting the Energy Minister to take strict action. During the suspension period, Anil Kumar’s headquarters will be at Panchkula.
