He said Haryana had earlier extended similar aid to Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab. “Continuing this spirit of cooperation, the Haryana Government has now contributed Rs 5 crore to Himachal Pradesh,” he said while addressing media after an informal Cabinet meeting in Chandigarh.

Saini also informed that all ministers, ruling party MLAs, and supporting MLAs have been requested to donate one month’s salary to the Haryana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. “This will help accelerate rescue and rehabilitation work so that immediate relief reaches affected families,” he said. Government officers and employees have also been urged to contribute voluntarily.

Appealing for wider support, the CM said, “Cooperation has been sought from social organisations and industrial establishments to ensure timely assistance to those affected.”

When asked about an appeal to Opposition leaders, Saini clarified that “the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is open for everyone and any individual may contribute as per their wish.”

On the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Punjab, Saini said Haryana is committed to its duty as a neighbour. He informed that he had met Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann today to enquire about his health and the flood situation. “The Haryana Government and the party are continuously sending relief material and assistance to Punjab and have also assured every possible help required. Punjab is our brother, and the Haryana Government stands firmly with Punjab in this hour of crisis,” he added.
