Haryana Film Mahotsav poster released in Rohtak

Films can play a significant role in highlighting the rich culture, heritage, glorious history and the harmonious social milieu of Haryana. There is a need to utilise this powerful medium of mass communication (cinema) as a tool to promote Haryana, said Vice-Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University Rajbir Singh in his presidential address during the release of poster for Haryana Film Mahotsav: 2025 today. This event was organised under the joint aegis of Vishwa Samwad Kendra, Haryana, Cine Foundation, Haryana, and MDU Students’ Welfare Office.Media person Ashok Shrivastava said, “Films can be used to promote moral values, ethical behaviour, and cultural ethos of the state and nation. More films need to be made on the glorious contribution of the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle.”

Rajesh Kumar, Secretary, Vishwa Samvad Kendra, while delivering the welcome address, focussed on the aim and objectives of organising the film festival while chairperson Dr Markendey Ahuja expressed the vote of thanks.

Prizes were given to winners of the Documentary Films & Reel Making Contest-2024 during the programme.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
