Haryana Govt asks farmers to upload crop damage info on e-Kshatipurti portal

Farmers of Yamunanagar district, who suffered losses due to hailstorms, can upload their crop damage information on the e-Kshatipurti portal, which will remain open till March 10.

The farmers in several areas of Yamunanagar district experienced crop loss due to hailstorms in January 2024.

As per the data prepared by the Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Yamunanagar, the hailstorms have caused damage tocrops of wheat, mustard, fodder and pulses on 77,638 acres in Yamunanagar district.

According to information, the e-Kshatipurti portal was opened on the request of Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner Captain Manoj Kumar who reportedly made a request to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on the demand of the farmers.

“Family identity card is mandatory for the registration of crops. Apart from this, it is also mandatory to register on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal’,” said Deputy Commissioner Captain Manoj Kumar.

He said the aim of the portal was to ease the process of submission of applications by the people for their damages and loss.

He added that the purpose of the portal was also to bring transparency in the system.

As per the data prepared by the Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, the hailstorms have caused an estimated damage to wheat, mustard, fodder and pulses crops in Yamunanagar district.

As much as 0-25 per cent damage was reported on 62,311 acres due to hailstones.

Similarly, 25-50 per cent damage was caused on 13,318 acres, 50-75 per cent damage in 1,719 acres and 75-100 per cent damage on 290 acres.

Rain and hailstorms had struck Yamunanagar district on January 31 and February 1.
