Employees of the Haryana Government today organised district-level protests across the state against the retrenchment of hundreds of contractual staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

They also pledged support to the agitation of the 1,983 physical training instructors (PTIs), removed recently on the orders of the Supreme Court.

According to a press note issued by Sarv Karamchari Sangh’s (SKS) president Subhash Lamba and general secretary Satish Sethi, the protesters gave memorandums addressed to the CM through deputy commissioners.

They alleged that despite assurances by the Prime Minister and the state Chief Minister that no employee would be sacked, hundreds of employees of different departments, boards and corporations had been thrown out of job.

They urged the state government to reinstate the retrenched staff failing which the “SKS would be forced to launch a bigger agitation”.
