Congratulating the Traffic and Highways Wing for this achievement, DGP Shatrujeet Kapur said, “This scheme is an excellent example of public service, good governance and accountability. I hope the same dedicated work ethic and citizen-centric approach will continue in the future as well.”
Since its inception, the scheme has facilitated free cashless treatment in 3,167 accident cases, the highest figure among all states. The swift police response, advanced digital processing, and close inter-agency coordination have been crucial to this success. Every case is uploaded, processed and approved within six hours, using an innovative tech-driven platform that integrates real-time monitoring via a dedicated statewide WhatsApp network.
At the district level, DSPs/ACPs have been appointed as nodal officers, leading active District Road Safety Cells operating 24/7. The scheme benefits from Haryana’s integrated emergency response model that connects 112 emergency services with 108 ambulances, ensuring prompt transportation of victims to hospitals.
According to Haryana Police, “As soon as an accident is reported, the police, ambulance and police station concerned are simultaneously alerted. Victims are transported to hospitals within minutes.”
Currently, 1,228 hospitals across Haryana are empanelled under the scheme. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has recognised the state’s model as an example for others to follow.
