These directives follow the commission’s intervention regarding the condition of the Shiv Shivalik Colony Park in Ambala City.

During a hearing of suo motu case number 350/1/2025, based on the report presented before the HHRC, it was observed that although considerable work had been completed in the Shiv Shivalik Colony Park, some crucial tasks — such as repairing the toilet, providing drinking water and installing post-top lights — were still pending.

Accordingly, the full Bench of the commission — comprising Chairperson Justice Lalit Batra and Members Kuldip Jain and Deep Bhatia — directed the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Ambala City, to complete the remaining works urgently.

Before the full Bench presided over by Justice Lalit Batra, Saurabh Goyal, Executive Engineer, Municipal Corporation, Ambala City, presented a set of photographs, on the basis of which the commission noted the progress.

Dr Puneet Arora, Protocol, Information and Public Relations Officer of the Commission, said the full Bench also directed that after completion of the pending works, a consolidated compliance report along with updated photographs must be submitted before the next hearing date by the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ambala City.

He said the full Bench further ordered that the directions would not remain limited to Ambala City alone.

He further said all Administrators/Estate Officers of the HSVP, Commissioners of the Municipal Corporations and District Municipal Commissioners/Executive Officers/Secretaries of the Municipal Councils/Committees across Haryana were directed to undertake proactive measures toward renovation, beautification and regular maintenance of the public parks in their respective areas.

As per order of the commission, the Director General of Urban Local Bodies, Haryana; Chief Administrator, HSVP, Panchkula; Commissioner and Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ambala City; and all Administrators/Estate Officers of HSVP; Municipal Corporations; and District Municipal Commissioners/Executive Officers/Secretaries of Municipal Councils/Committees in Haryana were directed to submit a detailed report on the points mentioned in the order before the next hearing scheduled on February 17, 2026.
