HAU bags 3 state-level awards under NSS

Of these awards one is for the volunteer category and another for the NSS unit. The state-level National Service Scheme (NSS) Award Distribution Ceremony for the year 2022-23 was organised by the Higher Education Department, Haryana, recently. The awards were conferred by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
While congratulating the winner, Vice Chancellor Prof BR Kamboj said it was a matter of pride for the university to receive three state- level awards simultaneously under the National Service Scheme. He said, “A person achieves his goal only due to strong willpower and hard work in mind.”
Out of these 10 awards, two awards have been received by volunteers Jagat Pal and Kumari Annu of the College of Agriculture, Hisar. The NSS unit of the Agriculture College and its programme officer Dr Chandrashekhar Dagar were awarded certificates, mementos and Rs 31,000. The volunteers were given a certificate, a memento and Rs 21,000.
Dr Madan Khichar, Director, Student Welfare, said from the year 2016-17 till now volunteers of the college had received a total of 15 awards, which include six national level and nine state-level awards. He said the NSS unit organises various activities, including awareness rally against social evils, plantation of trees and cleanliness campaign among others. — TNS
