A Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer, Kulbhushan Bansal, has been booked for sexual abuse and criminal intimidation on the complaint by a male employee who belongs to the Dalit community in the Civil Lines Police station in Hisar.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Kumar Mohan said a case under Sections 377 and 506 of the IPC besides the relevant sections of The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act had been registered against Bansal who was posted as SDM in Hansi sub-divisional town and holding the charge of the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad of Hisar district.

The ASP said the police had started an investigation, and no arrest had been made so far. The Hisar police have assigned the case to DSP, Detective, Sunil Kumar. The statement of the victim was also recorded by the police today.

Bansal was placed under suspension by the state government last evening after the complaint. The victim has sent a complaint to the National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC), CM Window, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Hisar SP and demanded action against the officer. The state government has deputed him at the state headquarters at the Chief Secretary's office in Chandigarh during the suspension period.
