Health infra to be strengthened in state: Arti Rao

State Health Minister Arti Singh Rao today said that the government was working to strengthen the health infrastructure and provide better medical facilities to the general public. The government had taken a major step towards strengthening the health system by giving administrative approval for the construction of 135 health institutions.

About Rs 74.43 crore will be spent on the projects.

The minister said of these, 126 “sub health centres” would be established at a cost of Rs 6,993 lakh. In addition, approval had been given for the construction of nine “block public health units”, with an estimated cost of Rs 450 lakh.

The sub health centres will be set up in the districts of Mahendragarh, Rewari, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Jind, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Palwal, Panipat, and Sonepat. The block units will be constructed in Sirsa, Bhiwani, Rewari, Jhajjar, and Panipat districts.

The government’s goal was to ensure that no resident of the state remained deprived of basic healthcare. Priority was being given to increase the number of doctors, provide modern medical equipment, and construct health institutions, she added.
