Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has taken an unprecedented step by convening a meeting of the Special High-Powered Purchase Committee during the ongoing budget session of the Assembly. The meeting, scheduled for March 21, aims to finalise rates for medicines, medical consumables, testing laboratories and medical equipment — key issues that several MLAs had raised during House proceedings.

During the question hour in the Assembly, many MLAs expressed concerns regarding shortages of medical equipment, machines and laboratory testing facilities in government hospitals across their constituencies.

In response, the Health Minister assured the House that these concerns would be addressed on priority. Taking swift action, she directed officials to organise the purchase committee meeting immediately.

"The issues raised by MLAs in the House will be resolved on priority," Rao emphasised.
