Rainwater entered the Civil Hospital and some schools, besides houses in several other localities, including Urban Estate, Model Town, Mill Gate, new sabzi mandi, old subzi mandi, Jawahar Nagar, Fawwara Chowk and the residential sectors of the HVSP.

Residents alleged the Public Health Engineering Department had failed to clean the drainage system, despite several requests by them and other officials of the administration.

Local MLA and Haryana Health Minister Kamal Gupta had also taken the officials to task before the onset of monsoon and directed them to ensure efficient drainage system. — TNS
