With Haryana recording the highest power consumption and maximum power load on July 1, Power Minister Ranjit Singh said the day was historic for the state in the power sector as this requirement had been met by the power utilities of the state itself.

The Minister said for the first time since the formation of the state, power consumption of 2576.88 lakh units had been recorded in the state while a load of 11,732 MW was registered.

Singh said: “There is no power breakdown in Haryana and power is being supplied to people as per the stipulated time without any interruption.”

An advisory had also been issued to all field officers to be alert during the paddy season and ensure uninterrupted power supply to public and farmers. —TNS
