Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday launched a new channel ‘Mhari Lado’ and a special hotline number for the safety of girls in emergency situation during a programme ‘Aapki Beti Hamari Beti Samman Samaroh’ held in Thirana village in Israna constituency of the district.

The Chief Minister honoured 1,600 women of nine districts for their achievements in various fields with the cash awards of Rs 12.32 crore during the programme.

While addressing a gathering, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign from this land after Haryana was infamous for the skewed sex ratio in the state. But, now the result of this campaign came to the fore and the gender ratio has been improved, he said.

The Chief Minister announced a gift of Rs 1,111 for anganwadi workers and anganwadi assistants on the Raksha Bandhan. He also announced an increase in honorarium for anganwadi workers and anganwadi assistants by Rs 750 and Rs 400, respectively. The CM also announced an increase in honorarium for assistants working in the play schools by Rs 500. He made these announcements before the announcement of election schedule by the Election Commission.
