Hisar airport cleared of nilgai, trial flight lands successfully

The Wildlife Department officials today sanitised the Hisar airport complex, removing nilgai (blue bulls) and other wild animals from the premises.

A team of 12 officials led the operation, supported by municipal corporation personnel from six districts. An official from the wildlife department said, "We caught three nilgai inside the airport area. These animals have been relocated to the Beed forest in the district."

The operation was conducted to ensure safe aircraft operations at the upcoming Hisar Airport.

Meanwhile, Hisar Airport witnessed a successful trial flight today, as a 70-seater aircraft landed from Delhi in the afternoon. Upon arrival, the aircraft was greeted with a water salute by fire engines.

A pilot from Alliance Air Aviation Limited conducted the test by taking off and flying around the area. The aircraft remained at the airport for two hours before returning to Delhi.

According to sources, five aircraft are expected to arrive at Hisar Airport on April 13, a day before the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The flight schedule for five destinations will be finalised, and online bookings will commence soon.

The Haryana Government has signed an agreement with Alliance Air Aviation Limited, under which the state will compensate for any ticket revenue losses for the first year of operations.
