“The arrival of paddy in the markets was shown to be more than the production. The truth is that, this time, a large portion of paddy was destroyed due to floods. Haryana farmers continued to struggle for MSP, but the BJP government did not pay them. Despite this, procurement was shown to be even higher than the previous season. This clearly indicates a scam to the tune of hundreds of thousands of crores,” alleged Hooda, while interacting with mediapersons here on Monday. The senior Congress leader said the investigation report of a previous “scam” had not yet been released, and another had been exposed in Karnal.
“This is not limited to Karnal, but is happening throughout Haryana, as no farmer is receiving the MSP for his crop. This government is neither providing MSP, nor compensation, nor fertiliser to farmers. Farmers are being made to stand in queues to receive fertiliser, and are being labelled as criminals. This is an insult to food providers,” he said.
BJP ruined sports policy: Former CM
Hooda said the Congress had instituted the ‘Bring a Medal, Get Post’ policy to encourage athletes, and also motivate youth to take up sports.
“This policy was also intended to prevent youth from turning to drugs and crime. However, the BJP government has ruined the sports policy. This government is unable to even properly maintain the stadiums built during the Congress regime,” he added.
