In response to the Loharu suicide case, a former CM, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has called for an inquiry to be conducted either by a high court judge or the CBI.

Interacting with the media at his residence today, Hooda said it was necessary to expose the real culprits. “The BJP government should ensure a fair investigation to determine the true circumstances behind the incident. This can only be achieved if the case is handed over to the CBI or investigated by a high court judge, as the police operate under the state government,” he said.

Hooda claimed that criminals were openly demanding ransom from businessmen over the phone while the government remained inactive. “Not a single day goes by without a report of crime against women. While the government promotes slogans like ‘Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao’, Haryana has seen a decline in the sex ratio at birth in 2024,” he said.

On the SYL issue, he said the government should file a contempt case in the court because the Supreme Court had given a verdict in Haryana's favour.
