An owner of a private hospital, Ashok Malik, who is associated with the Congress in Jind town, received a ransom demand of Rs 5 crore on his WhatsApp number. The threat was allegedly issued by the Rohit Godara gang. Malik said he received a voice note on WhatsApp number and reported the matter with the police. The Jind police provided him with security. In the 26-second voice note, the caller asked me to pay the ransom amount or face dire consequences, he alleged.

Jind SP Kuldeep Singh said an FIR has been lodged in the case.
