Hospitals to be upgraded as per local needs, says Arti Singh Rao

Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Friday said the state government is committed to providing affordable and accessible healthcare services to every citizen. She assured that medical institutions will be upgraded wherever necessary to ensure quality healthcare is available close to people’s homes.

“Wherever required, medical institutions will be upgraded to ensure better healthcare facilities are available to people near their homes,” she said.

The minister announced that the Civil Hospital in Narnaul will soon be upgraded from a 100-bed to a 200-bed facility, with tenders already invited for the project estimated to cost Rs 2,773 lakh.

Highlighting recent infrastructure improvements, Rao said the government has completed nearly two and a half dozen new health buildings at a total cost of around Rs 60 crore. These include 13 Block Public Health Units, 12 Sub-Health Centres, 3 Primary Health Centres, one Community Health Centre and one Sub-Divisional Hospital.

She added that renovation and beautification works have also been carried out in several older hospitals to provide a more comfortable environment for patients and attendants.

“The aim is not only to reach every citizen with healthcare facilities but also to ensure that these services are of high quality and modern standards,” the minister said, reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening the public health system.

Arti Singh Rao emphasised that the state government will continue to upgrade medical institutions as per requirement and ensure there is no shortfall in healthcare services across Haryana.
