HPWPC approves projects worth Rs 41 cr

A meeting of the High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) was held here today under the chairmanship of Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel, in which eight major projects related to sanitation, infrastructure development and public amenities from various municipal councils of the state were approved.

After reviewing the proposals presented at the meeting, projects worth over Rs 41 crore were sanctioned — including four sanitation projects costing Rs 21.66 crore and four infrastructure projects worth Rs 19.75 crore.

Approval was granted for door-to-door waste collection, segregation, transportation and disposal works in the municipal councils of Ratia, Uchana and Mahendragarh. In addition, the bio-remediation of legacy waste, land reclamation, and scientific disposal work in Hansi Municipal Council was also approved. These four projects will strengthen solid waste management in their respective areas and help maintain environmental balance.

Furthermore, the committee approved projects for the construction of a community centre in Budhena village (Faridabad district), widening and beautification of the road from the bus stand to Dabhoda Mor in Farrukhnagar Municipal Council and construction of streets and laying of stormwater drainage pipelines in newly regularised colonies of Zone-1 and Zone-2 of Tohana Municipal Council. These infrastructure projects, costing Rs 19.75 crore, will provide citizens with better roads, drainage systems and community facilities.
