Husband-wife duo arrested with 272g heroin in Faridkot

The police have arrested a husband-wife duo with 272 g heroin. The accused, identified as Balwinder Singh alias Binder and his wife Sarabjit Kaur, hail from Rohera in Haryana’s Jind district. According to the police, the couple was intercepted near Faridkot, and upon being searched in the presence of DSP (Investigation) Arun Mundan, the contraband was recovered.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Sadar Kotkapura police station, and both accused have been remanded to police custody. Investigations reveal that the heroin was supplied to them by a trafficker from the border district of Ferozepur and was meant to be transported to Haryana by rail for further distribution.

The police have also named the suppliers and receivers in the case and assured that arrests will follow soon. SSP Dr Pragya Jain said the police are committed to dismantling the supply chains linking Punjab’s border areas with traffickers in Haryana.
