Faridabad, July 31
Around 10 huts on the Surajkund International Craft Mela ground were engulfed in a fire that broke out on Tuesday evening. The fire was extinguished after about half an hour, and no one was injured.
According to the police, the fire broke into huts that had been lying vacant around 7.30 pm. Fire tenders arrived shortly after the incident and managed to put out the fire within 30 minutes. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
While the frames and structures of most permanent huts remain standing throughout the year, they are allotted to invited artisans and craftspersons during the 17-day fair organised each February. — TNS
