To avoid a repeat of the Republic Day violence, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) is wary ahead of the Parliament protest starting on July 22.

It has decided that no farmer without an ID or Aadhaar card will be allowed to protest at the Parliament, and the record of every protester will be maintained at the “kisan andolan” office.

The umbrella body of more than 40 farmers’ unions, which is spearheading the agitation for the scrapping of the three Central agricultural laws, said the preparation for their protest at the Parliament was in full swing. Starting on July 22 till the monsoon session ends, five farmers from each union will protest at the Parliament every day.

Darshan Pal Singh, SKM leader, said: “Every protester must carry an ID card so that notorious elements can’t enter farmers’ groups.” — TNS
