Pankaj Nain, Inspector General of Police, Ambala Division, today inspected the store in police line, Jagadhri, to check narcotics seized under the NDPS Act in the district in the past several months.

He gave necessary guidelines regarding the maintenance of the store where seized narcotics had been kept.

The Yamunanagar SP, Surinder Singh Bhoria, who was also present, said cases were registered under the Act and drugs were seized from smugglers. “The seized drugs are destroyed under a legal process so that they cannot be misused. These drugs are checked by senior officers from time to time,” he said.

The IG inspected drugs related to 190 pending cases in the district. “Narcotics seized in 190 cases were checked. These narcotics will be destroyed soon after getting orders from the higher authorities,” he said.
