The Gurugram police have busted an illegal liquor manufacturing unit operating near Rithoj village in the Aravalli hills and arrested one accused. A total of 12 litres of raw liquor and 50 litres of lahan (raw material) stored in drums were recovered from the accused’s possession.

According to the police, a team from Maruti Kunj police chowki received information about an illegal furnace set up in the dense forest of the Aravalli hills near Rithoj village, where illicit liquor was being produced and sold.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid on the site, arresting one accused while others managed to flee.

The arrested accused has been identified as Pradeep, a resident of Rithoj village. An FIR has been registered at Bhondsi police station.

The arrested accused, along with his accomplices, set up a furnace in the dense forest on the hill to manufacture illicit liquor and sell it in the village.
