Providing details of the operation, District Mining Engineer Dr Rajesh Kumar said inspections were carried out between May 7 and May 18, resulting in the issuance of penalty notices to the owners of the impounded vehicles. In six cases where penalties were not paid, FIRs were registered against the defaulters.

Additionally, the department acted on three other complaints, including one raised during the recent monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee, chaired by Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma. Following the Minister’s directive, FIRs were filed in connection with illegal mining activities at Bapdauli, Shahpur Awwal (Mandi), and Baba Bio Energy Plant in Garhi village.

Kumar stated that the district administration remained committed to taking strict action against illegal mining. He assured that similar enforcement drives would continue in future.
