Bhiwani, August 3
The dharna of the National Health Mission (NHM) employees entered its ninth day today in Bhiwani. The NHM staff have been struggling to get their demands accepted under the banner of the NHM Employees Union. They are holding an indefinite protest outside the local Mini-Secretariat. The strike has adversely impacted health services, including nutrition for pregnant women and timely treatment and vaccination of children across the state.
NHM Employees Union District President Himanshu said they were demanding regularisation of services, implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, payment of LTC, medical leave, cashless insurance, EL/CL and the implementation of the old transfer policy. He said the employees had been demanding these rights for a long time, but the government had been ignoring them.
