IN BRIEF: Girl dies by suicide in Rewari

Rewari: A 14-year-old girl hanged herself to death at a rented accommodation in Sector 6 of Dharuhera town on Monday evening. As per her family members, deceased Rinku, a class VIII student, was under stress. The family basically belongs to Bihar. She took the extreme step when no one was present at the house. On getting information, the police reached the spot and sent the body to Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Sub-inspector Sachin said the body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination on Tuesday. “She took the extreme step under stress,” he added. TNS

car runs into ‘baraat’, 7 hurt

Mahendragarh: Seven persons were injured when a car ran into a wedding procession (baraat) during the ‘ghurchari’ ritual in Narnaul town on Monday night. The groom, who was seated on a mare, had a narrow escape. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital where the condition of two of them was stated to be critical. The car driver, who further rammed into an ATM booth, was caught by locals and handed over to the police. A case has been registered against him. TNS
