Karnal: An online induction and orientation programme was organised for the first-year undergraduate students at RKSD College, Kaithal. Principal Sanjay Goyal presided over it. NCC Captain Ramphal Maun, NSS Officer Jaibir Dhariwal, head of Physical Education Department Gurdeep Bhola, and others welcomed the new students and introduced their respective cells to them. The Principal formally welcomed the new students and informed them about the institutional structure of the college, various blocks, divisions, facilities, rules and education objectives. The programme was coordinated by staff secretary Prof Shriom.

Retd dons’ body convenes meet

Yamunanagar: Dr Balbir Singh, general secretary of the Retired College Principals and Teachers Federation (RCPTF), convened the first meeting of the newly elected governing body through video-conferencing at Yamunanagar. The new office-bearers include Prof RP Sahni, vice president, and secretaries Dr Ishar Singh and Dr RL Saini. Three committees — advisory committee, constitution amendment committee and discipline committee — were formed and Dr SB Dixit, Dr DP Asija and Dr Yog Raj Bhatia were made their conveners. The meeting was attended by Dr Mehtab Singh, Dr RK Gaur, Dr Anirudh Bharti, Dr KV Sharma and Dr RP Singh. It was presided over by Dr AS Malhotra, president of the federation.

Post-Covid job scenario discussed

Yamunanagar: DAV College for Girls, Yamunanagar, conducted an online programme on “Post Covid Job Opportunities and Corporate Expectations”, under the supervision of Principal Dr Abha Khetarpal and Dr Rachna Soni, head of Department of Computer Science and Applications. The resourceperson of the programme was Vaibhav Mehnidratta, who discussed the current scenario of employment in the country after the pandemic. He suggested several activities through which students could increase their knowledge regarding new business and technology trends. Later, he took queries from students. About 200 students joined the session.
