Thought-provoking Opinions, Expert Analysis, In-depth Insights and other Member Only BenefitsLaunching a sharp attack on the state government, INLD national president Abhay Singh Chautala on Sunday said that law and order in Haryana has completely collapsed, with murders and abductions on the rise and traders openly facing extortion threats.
He accused the ruling party of failing to ensure public safety and alleged that Chief Minister Nayab Saini is a “dummy CM”, while former CM Manohar Lal Khattar continues to run the government.
“Law and order in Haryana has completely broken down, with incidents of murders, kidnappings and extortion being reported almost every day. Traders are being openly threatened for ransom. These figures are not fabricated, but appear in government records and newspapers on a regular basis,” said Chautala while addressing party workers and leaders in Kaithal, Kalayat and Pundri.
He was inviting party workers and leaders for the September 25 rally in Rohtak to mark the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal. He said that, so far, he had covered 30 constituencies to extend invitations and that by September 8, invitations would be delivered across all 90 constituencies of the state.
“There is immense enthusiasm among the people and this year’s rally will witness massive participation to pay tribute to Tau Devi Lal,” he added.
While interacting with mediapersons at the residence of party’s state president Rampal Majra, Abhay Chautala also hit out at Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, calling him a “dummy CM”.
Targeting Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chautala alleged that the Hooda family had played the biggest role in bringing the BJP to power in Haryana and that people of Rohtak had now realised they were misled in the name of community leadership.
Responding to repeated remarks made by MP Jai Parkash against the Chautala family, Abhay Chautala said that the MP has grown old and should be blessed with good sense by God. He reminded that it was former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala who had once guided Jai Prakash in learning politics. “Becoming an MP or MLA is not a big deal, but one must know how to speak with decency,” said Abhay.
Earlier, INLD state president Rampal Majra said the organisation was strengthening rapidly and that the INLD was emerging as the only viable alternative to the BJP.
