Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) state president Rampal Majra launched a scathing attack on the government over murder of farmer Bijender in Panipat. He demanded a judicial inquiry into the case by a sitting judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, ensuring justice for the victim’s family.

While interacting with mediapersons in Kaithal on Saturday, Majra demanded that the family of the deceased be given a compensation of Rs 2 crore and a government job for one member.

Majra alleged that the police had not added appropriate murder charges against the accused, which he termed as deeply condemnable. Majra warned the government of serious consequences if action was not taken promptly.

“If murder charge is not added and strict action is not taken against the accused by June 10, the INLD will protest at the Panipat district headquarters,” he said.

Majra along with INLD Kisan Cell president Phool Singh Manjura also announced the new state committee of the cell and district-level appointments.

Manjura reiterated that farmers were the backbone of the INLD. He said newly appointed office-bearers would travel across villages to raise their voice on farmers’ issues.
