Smiti Chaudhary (48), an IPS officer of 2012 batch, passed away on Friday in Nashik, Maharashtra. She was currently posted as SP, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

As per information, she was appointed DSP in 2004, and served at key positions, including as DSP in Panchkula, and Flying Squad. She was inducted into IPS with effect from February 2017, and served at various key positions, including as SP Lokayukta, SP State Vigilance Bureau, SP Dadri. She was posted as SP Anti-Corruption Bureau since September 2023.

Condolences poured in from several IAS, IPS officers and politicians as the news of her untimely demise reached. She was reportedly on leave due to illness and had gone to meet her husband Rajesh Kumar, an IPS officer in Maharashtra. She was in Nashik, where she breathed her last on Friday. She belonged to a family of distinguished civil servants.
