*The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has also detected irregularities in the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), which caused a loss of Rs4,021 crore to the state exchequer.

*The losses are on account of “avoidable burden of interest, avoidable payments and wasteful expenditure”.

*The CAG report brought out that the DHBVN had to bear a loss of Rs2,703 crore from 2013 to 2016, as technical and commercial losses were more than what was prescribed by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission..

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
