Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) national president Abhay Singh Chautala said the results of the recent departmental examinations in the Jails Department have exposed the claims of “no parchi, no kharchi” claims of the BJP government.

In the departmental examinations of the Superintendents (Jail), Deputy Superintendents (Jail), Assistant Superintendents (Jail) and Sub-Assistant Superintendents (Jail), 40 out of 41 officers failed in the Financial Rule paper.

At the same time, 18 out of 24 staffers failed in the Criminal Law paper, which was 75 per cent of the total number. For the Jail Manual paper, 26 staff members had appeared of which 13 (50 per cent) failed. Thirty-two staffers appeared in the Hindi paper, and 16 failed the test.

“The failure of such a large number of officers in the departmental examinations of the Jail Department clearly shows that they are not eligible for these posts. The BJP government has made full use of “parchi and kharchi” in their recruitments,” said Chautala.

He said, “If qualified officers had been recruited in their place, the result of the departmental examination would have been opposite, and the number of those who failed would have been two per cent, while the number of those who passed would have been 98 per cent.”

He further said, “There are many such examples where money transactions for government jobs have taken place. Even in the last term, audio of the son of a BJP MLA was leaked, in which it was said that money transactions for government jobs were done. Also, Rs 3.5 crore have been recovered from an HPSC officer.”
