Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been honoured with ‘institutional award’ for social service during the lockdown period of the Covid pandemic. The award has been given by the Haryana Red Cross Society and Faridabad District Administration. Haryana Transport Minister Mool Chand Sharma distributed the awards at a two-day award ceremony organised by the Red Cross Society and the Faridabad District Administration on the university campus. University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dinesh Kumar received the award. The varsity officials who felicitated include dean student welfare Prof Lakhwinder Singh, dean informatics and computing Prof Komal Kumar Bhatia, deputy dean Dr Anuradha Pillai, medical officer Dr Ankur Sharma and coordinator, Red Cross Society, Sushil Panwar. Recognising the contribution made by corona warriors, Mool Chand Sharma applauded the support provided by the university during the lockdown period which includes conducting awareness campaigns, distribution of dry ration packets to the needy, setting up of a quarantine centre in the university and organising blood donation camps.

Dr Dastur memorial oration at NDRI

Karnal: Dr NN Dastur Memorial Oration Award was organised at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Deemed University, Karnal. Dr Manmohan Singh Chauhan, Director, NDRI, presided over the programme and welcomed the chief guest, professor JS Rajput, Padma Shri awardee, India’s representative to UNESCO’s Executive Board and Former Director, National Council of Educational, Research and Training. Dr Chauhan highlighted the role played by Prof Rajput in reforming education and literature and for bringing Indian education on the International podium. Dr Rajput while giving his oration on the topic entitled, “Emerging canvas of Indian education” elaborated on the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
