The Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) has set a target of enrolling 5,000 new members in each of the 90 Assembly constituencies in the state, for which a statewide membership drive would be carried out from June 15 to July 31.

Ajay Singh Chautala, national president of the JJP, announced it after holding a meeting with newly appointed district incharges, district presidents, cell coordinators, and constituency-level office-bearers here on Thursday.

He emphasised that the JJP had already laid the foundation to make the organisation effective and strong in view of the 2029 elections. “The JJP office-bearers will not only strengthen the organisation by going into the field but also continue to raise the problems of the common people,” he said.

In a significant symbolic move, Chautala announced that the JJP would now include the image of social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on its posters, alongside that of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, to honour the contribution of backward classes.

Former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala also addressed the gathering, announcing that the party would soon appoint office secretaries in all districts. He directed party officials to focus on the membership campaign at the booth level, with emphasis on recruiting active workers and women members.

He said weekly meetings would be held at the district level, and reports would be submitted to the Rohtak state office.

Dushyant further said many leaders who had left the party were joining the JJP again and the party's campaign was gaining momentum.
