A video of the incident, showing kanwariyas blocking traffic and dancing, has since gone viral on social media.

Police officials urged the kanwariyas to clear the road due to the inconvenience caused, but the group initially refused to comply and continued their celebration, keeping traffic at a standstill.

Several commuters, including families with elderly passengers, were left stranded on both sides of the highway, with many expressing frustration over the unexpected delay.

Eyewitnesses stated that the group had stopped at the toll plaza, parked their vehicles, and began dancing in the middle of the busy highway. However, no public property was damaged.

“Nobody seemed to care about the traffic or the inconvenience being caused to others. They were completely lost in their celebration,” said one commuter stuck in the jam.

Madhuban SHO Gaurav Kumar, confirmed the incident and said, “Kanwariyas caused inconvenience to the general public for some time, and when the police arrived, they moved on towards their destination.”

He added that the police would tighten security during the remainder of the Kanwar Yatra to prevent such disruptions in the future.
