With an aim of “Saaf city and safe city” and to ensure transparency in the execution of development works in the municipal areas, the Karnal Municipal Corporation (KMC) has started displaying boards at prominent locations where the development work is to be carried out with an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh and above.

Details of the project including starting and completion dates, name of the agency with the name of contractor and his mobile numbers will be written on these boards. Besides, name of the incharge office –XEN/AE/ME/JE with names and mobile numbers and details of website, toll free numbers, phone number of the civic body will be mentioned for lodging complaints.

Naresh Narwal, Commissioner, KMC, said the purpose to set up such boards at the construction site wasto ensure transparency in the work. People should also know about the project and they can file complaint on the display numbers if they find any discripancies in the project work. “Displaying the board is mandatory for all project works. We have started displaying boards for each and every project,” said the Commissioner.
