Joint Director (Research) Rajan Sharma, speaking on this occasion, emphasised the need of CASA and flow cytometry techniques as advanced methods for bovine sperm assessment.

“CASA enables reliable analysis of semen images, and is designed to process large numbers of images with high consistency, accuracy and repeatability,” he added.

Livestock Production Management (LPM) Division head Pawan Singh said CASA was designed to objectively and quantitatively measure several aspects of sperm structure and function, aiming to provide high levels of fertility among livestock.
