The meeting was chaired by Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, and was attended by Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, MC Commissioner Dr Vaishali Sharma, and councillors and officials of various departments.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar presented a proposal in this regard before the House and said, in a previous meeting held on August 7, the proposal to set up the waste-to-energy plant near the STP in Phoosgarh village had been deferred.

Following inspection by the Revenue Department, the land was found to be fertile agricultural land with narrow access, making it unsuitable.

Subsequently, on September 15, the revenue team, along with project representatives, surveyed 48-acre municipal land at Daha village.

The land was found barren and unused, making it a suitable site. After deliberation, the House approved 16 acres for the waste-to-energy plant and four for the C&D waste plant, according to the Mayor.

She said, presently, there was no plant for C&D waste, so the proposed plant would help in managing it.

She directed officials to convene the next House meeting at the earliest to review the status of proposals passed in the last two meetings, especially development works.

She instructed all officials to prepare and submit detailed action-taken reports on their respective proposals.

MLA Jagmohan Anand instructed councillors to assess sanitation workers based on their performance, and directed sanitation officials to prepare duty rosters.

He directed engineering officials and branch heads to ensure their presence in offices between 10 am and 1 pm instead of being out on site visits in order to ensure that councillors and citizens did not face inconvenience.
