In a show of solidarity, people of Kaul village, along with former MLA Tejvir Singh, joined the ongoing students’ protest at College of Agriculture Kaul in Kaithal district, a centre of Chaudhary Charan Singh Agriculture University Hisar.

They have been protesting against the reduction of seats reserved for Kaul village, which had donated around 50 acres for the college in 1970. Besides, they are also demanding the revocation of reduction in scholarship for PhD students as well as action in the assault on students in Hisar.

On Sunday evening, Tejvir met Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda and handed over a memorandum in support of the students’ demands.

Addressing the gathering, Tejvir assured the students that all their demands would be fulfilled. He emphasised that the students’ concerns were valid and deserved immediate attention. “Kaul village stands firmly with the students,” he said, adding that the support extended beyond the village and said “the entire farming community and all student organisations are united in this cause.”
