Khalsa Panth symbol of courage, sacrifice: Haryana CM Nayab Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said the creation of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh on April 13, 1699, instilled the spirit of courage and sacrifice in the people, blending spiritual thinking with bravery.

Addressing devotees at Gurdwara Sadh Sangat in South City-I, Gurugram, on the occasion of Baisakhi, Saini said, “Guru Gobind Singh gave a new direction to society by combining bravery and heroic spirit with spiritual thinking. Indians will remain indebted to the Khalsa Panth for their contribution to humanity. The Modi government is committed to giving it due recognition.”

He recalled major Sikh commemorations organised by the state, including the 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh (2017), the 550th of Guru Nanak Dev (2019), and the 400th of Guru Teg Bahadur (2022). He also announced a Sikh museum on four acres in Kurukshetra and a world-class Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial at Lohgarh in Yamunanagar.

“One of the biggest achievements is the Kartarpur Corridor. In Sirsa, land of an adjacent educational institute has been handed over to the Gurdwara Chilla Sahib management,” he added.

The CM also paid tribute to Jallianwala Bagh martyrs and announced a Rs 21 lakh grant for the Gurugram gurdwara.

Separately, at a programme held by the All India Saini Seva Samaj to mark Mahatma Jyotiba Phule’s birth anniversary, Saini announced that “From the academic session 2025-26, all SC and OBC students pursuing medical and engineering courses in any government college will get full scholarships. A portal will be created for this.”
