Transport minister Anil Vij today welcome the positing of IAS officer Ashok Khemka to the Transport Department, saying he's a good officer.

He said IAS and IPS officers get different set of training and if they could be posted on same posts, the training would have been the same.

Reacting to media query regarding IAS officer Ashok Khemka replacing IPS officer Navdeep Singh Virk in Transport Department, Anil Vij said: “It was good because the training of civil officers is different from the training of IPS officers. If they (IAS and IPS) could be posted on same posts, they would have been given the same training. They get different training and that is why they are given different tasks. Ashok Khemka is a good officer, and whoever comes to my department, does a good work.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
