Kurukshetra DC tells officials to use e-office for transparency

Listens to public grievances, 102 complaints received, of which 85 were related to family IDs

To ensure transparency and paperless working at the government offices, the Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner has directed officers to resume using the e-office software for the disposal of official files with priority.

The e-office will be implemented at the DC office first in a week, for which training was imparted to the employees and officials on Monday.

An officer said, “The e-office was adopted in 2020 in Kurukshetra and implemented in over 40 departments in two phases; however later, the frequency of using the software by different departments dropped in several departments. Though the offices are still using e-office, the Deputy Commissioner has directed the departments to again start using the e-office on priority. A training session for the employees was held today”.

DC Vishram Kumar Meena said as per the orders of the state government, the e-office will be used to adopt a transparent system at government offices. It will start once again from the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Within a week, the process of connecting the Deputy Commissioner’s office with the e-office system will be completed.

The DC also listened to the grievances of the people during the Samadhan Shivir on Monday and said 102 complaints were received, of which nearly 85 were related to family IDs. The complaints were regarding changes in the family income, pensions, and adding new members. Some complainants had said they had applied in the past too but the issue was not resolved hence the departments have been told to apprise the citizens the reason regarding the complaints not resolved so that the citizens did’t have to make rounds of the offices. Directions have also been issued to resolve the pending complaints at the earliest. A review meeting will be held on Friday.

It has also been decided that a receipt will be issued to every complainant and they will be asked to bring the receipt with them if they are required to visit the Shivir again so that their complaint is easily tracked down. The responsibility of the officers concerned will be fixed in case of unsatisfactory delay, he said.
