Controller of Examinations Dr Ankeshwar Prakash reported that KU awarded 116 PhDs in 2020, 147 in 2021, 137 in 2022, 135 in 2023 and 178 in 2024. As of July 2025, 83 scholars have earned doctorates.

Deputy Director (Public Relations) Dr Jimmy Sharma said the university has streamlined the PhD admission process and extended the privilege of PhD supervision to professors from affiliated colleges. These measures have broadened research opportunities and are expected to boost doctoral enrolments in the coming years.

With these initiatives, KU continues to strengthen its standing as a leading centre for research and innovation in the region and beyond.
