Hisar, January 17

Amid the shivering cold, the Jan Sandesh Yatra launched by Kumari Selja and Kiran Choudhary has shot up the political temperature in the state.

Though Selja, Randeep and Kiran, referred to as ‘SRK’ camp, had announced the yatra over two months ago, the letter issued by state party incharge Deepak Babaria yesterday, asking workers to stay away from any programme other than the ‘Ghar-Ghar Congress’ programme, has brought to the fore the factionalism in the party.

Former CM Bhupinder Hooda and state party chief Udai Bhan had embarked on the ‘Ghar-Ghar’ drive from Jind on January 15.

Asked about the letter, Selja said, “I will not comment on it. It is a party issue,” adding that everybody was working to strengthen the party. Asked about the questioning of Hooda by the ED in Delhi today, she claimed that the ED was being “used”.

The yatra is significant for Selja as Hisar is her home district. It will culminate in Ambala on February 18. She had represented Ambala twice in the Lok Sabha.
