The athletics team of National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, won the coveted Champion’s Trophy at Annual Sports Meet CITIUS’ 2023-24 by bagging 70 medals.

National hockey team player Surendra Singh was the chief guest.

Physical Education and Sports incharge Prof PC Tewari said Dimple, member of the athletics team, had participated in various events and that she had been selected as the representative in the upcoming annual sports festival at the National Institute of Technology, Warangal.

Meanwhile, Twinkle Soni clinched the gold medal in the discus throw event. The award for the Best Team was presented to the athletics team.

In the girls’ one-mile cycling race for girls, Kaushiki, Surbhi and Juhi Singh emerged victorious, while in the boys’ three-mile cycling race category, Ashish, Pankaj, and Devanand Vijay grabbed the top positions.

In the weightlifting category, Aakash Jha, Rithik, Rudra and Rohit showcased their strength and determination. Meanwhile, the team comprising Dilip, Sushil and Himanshu won the 4×100 m relay race.
